This is pretty remarkable. The author is super economical with info, but if you follow the dotted lines you can get from a melody to a decent chord-melody arrangement - it's all there, just read slowly and deeply.You don't need much previous knowledge other than standard notation familiarity. He takes you (quickly) through triad and seventh construction, inversions, and some substitutions, and then basic chord melody arrangement. You get as far as melody notes interspersed with chords - no interior harmony or fingerstyle arppegios or such.This is not a traditional hand holder nor a theoretical slog. It's just a remarkably well organized, economical presentation of exactly the theory you need to get from a melody line to a chord-melody arrangement without prior knowledge.
